Evening everybody,

What do people expect for £15 per week, you cannot park a car for that !!
For this we get a beautiful home in the sun, well maintained and always a friendly welcome, what ever time you arrive.
Before we brought in Turkey we had a narowboat on the Kennet & Avon canal, the moorings alone cost £2500 per year, then £800 for a license, and we definately didn't have a lovely weather!
Of couse everybody would like to pay less, but we must appreciate what we have.
I'm sure it would cost more in ground rent for a static caravan.

It might be helpful if someone one can list the historic differences in the exchange rates, at this present time is is pretty low however by July it is likely it will rise again.

If we were getting as much as we were in 2007 when exchange rate was in the region of 2.70 we might be thinking differently, that's why it's important to work only in Lira and not £.

we think the maintenance is reasonable to keep our complex and pool looking good.we agree that to keep a caravan in this country costs a lot more and that we are lucky to have a nice holiday home in a foreign country. As long as there is not a huge jump in price we expected it to change from year to year and are quite happy as long as we know where the money is going.we will be using the pool hopefully in the easter holidays weather permitting and the bar if open.

Just been reading through previos posts in this topic and agree with wendy and steve
A relative of ours as a luxury caravan on the yorkshire coast  and although in a beatiful location paid 40k  and then an a anual  rent, maintenance of £2000
Therefore   900 lira  maint fee for mayfair 2  i would consider to be  very good value if we are to compare this way

Sunescape or any other maintenance company cannot  fix a flat constant rate  for maintenance  for 3 years prices change example if electricity and water (communal areas) trebled would we expect sunescape to pay the difference no we would not we would have to pay it just like we would at home
All sunescape can do is an anual forcast  for maint fees but  these  could change drammatically

The vast majority of people that i have spoken to  are more than happy with bulent and sunescape  who are at all times approachable and courtious and will go out of there way to assist
When you read some  of the posts on  other turkish foroums  of nightmare stories  where people have lost there properties and life savings etc  anyone who as purchased  a property through sunescape can rest assured that they are with a reputable, trustworthy  company who i  personally would certainly reccomend to any one

me again i question the rise purely based on the fact i thought (wrongly) the rate was fixed for 3 years now you can sit at home and think and call me stupid but when i purchased i am sure that is what i was told not by bulent but by right move abroad . my wife and i have full trust with sun escape and would recomend them to all we fully support all they do .we do not doubt the annual cost merely question because of  our mistaken belief on the fixed rate we are all human and make mistakes  and no doubt will be one of the first to pay this years maintenance  :-Xyours gary

Here is something to think about, if you have studied the information given to you by Bulent.  If the bar had not been mistakenly added in last year as an independant unit that paid maintenance, we would have paid more for the 2009 maintenance than we did.  Also, the £400 when buying was an estimated figure (or under-estimated) of the costs of maintaining a complex that had not even been built yet.  (I hope this is the last time that £400 will be used as a comparison.  At least I will never mention it again.)

Hi All

Re: CCTV    I thought this was to be compulsory in Turkey from this year???

Don't think we received any notification on a price for this Bulent. Can you email us a copy of the cost.

Regards

Hello Bulent,

I want to say this regarding all the people in Mayfair 1 who have not paid their maintenane fees.  You should put up a 'Shame the Devil' list of all offenders every year so we can see who is not paying.  I expect it is the same people each time.  I don't know what their excuses are, but I reckon that most of them just aren't bothering until they get to the complex on their holidays.  This is not fair on those who do pay on time and very inconsiderate to say the least, of the non-payers.  I am a single person who is just an ordinary factory worker, I put money aside each month to cover all expenses that this apartment incurs annually.  If you cannot afford these annual expenses, you should not have bought in the first place.  Please put up the list of offenders, so we'll know who they are.  I, for one, when I am over there in July, do not want to meet any of these people if they are there.  They are not the type I would want to know.
